Certified Pick up for the release party

As a freight forwarder, consignee or cargo owner, you receive the release right through Certified Pick up. You can give this release right to a transport operator who then converts it to a pick-up right.

As a Release Party, what do you do with Certified Pick up?

Once all commercial agreements are in place, the shipping agent grants the right to pick up the container through Certified Pick up. That right is called the release right and is given to the freight forwarder, consignee or cargo owner. They are then the Release Party. The release right can be transferred again to a subsequent party.

As a freight forwarder, consignee or cargo stakeholder, you receive the release right through Certified Pick up.

As a Release Party, you can use Certified Pick up to:

  • Receive a release right from the shipping agent.
  • Transfer a release right to another party.
  • Accept or reject the receipt of a release right
  • Revoke the transfer of a release right

Implementation

As a Release Party, you can implement Certified Pick up in your organisation in two ways:

  1. By integrating the API directly into your ERP or transport management systems. You can read how to do that here.
  2. With the user interface, as in step 3 above.

In this presentation you will find best practices for the use of Certified Pick up as release party and transport operator.
