Certified Pick up for the terminal operator

The terminal operator provides status information to the other parties through Certified Pick up. Together with the shipping agent, the terminal grants approval before the container can be picked up.

What does a terminal operator do with Certified Pick up?

A terminal supplies status information of the container to Certified Pick up. After a pick up right is created, the terminal validates the required information using data from Certified Pick up. This allows the terminal to release the container for collection to the appropriate party.

A terminal operator supplies supply status information of the container to Certified Pick up.

As a terminal operator, you can use Certified Pick up to:

  • Deliver the terminal release. This is the information necessary for the release of the container. It pertains to a confirmation that the container is physically available at the terminal and that the container is not blocked (e.g. because of damage).
  • Validate the pick up right.

The Certified Pick up platform notifies the terminal operator when a shipping agent has submitted a commercial release on the platform.

Implementation

As a terminal operator, you will be working through the API. You therefore integrate the API directly into your ERP or transport management systems. You can read how to do that here

Use

Depending on your company and your position in the release process, you will see a different interface on Certified Pick up. The user interface for terminal operators is quite limited, as all integrations and actions have to be done through the API.

In this presentation you will find best practices for the use of Certified Pick up as a terminal operator.
